Dad I miss you still !!!

 Dad you are missed. Thinking back I didn’t have you nearly long enough , but what I had was truly quality time , you taught me how to be a man and how to be a dad. You taught me right from wrong and took the time to make me know the difference You bought me my first glove and taught me how to use it . You were so proud of me it made me want to do well to make you happy but whether I hit a home run or struck out , you were always proud of me , and I noticed. I may not have let on, but I noticed. I remember the time you got hurt in work and I wrote you a letter and sent it to you with mom when you were in the hospital , you took it, and put it in your wallet , when you passed away 12 years later that scribbled letter written by a five year old was still in there , I knew then how much I meant to you .
I remember my first little league team , we were bad and after games how we always went for ice cream sometimes just cause we were so bad . You felt bad for us and took the whole team even when we lost. But the times I remember most are not the times you took the team for ice cream but the times you and I shared together as father and son, whether it was the movies or just stopping off to buy me a comic or a model . I remember you used to take me everywhere with you we were so close. I always wanted to be by your side . Then you left me one week after my birthday in 73, you were unconscious for three days and the first thing you asked when you woke up was weather I got my track jacket and class ring. I told you I did , you said we would talk tomorrow but we never did . Tomorrow never came . You slipped back into the darkness and we never spoke again , Dad I miss you so and want you to know you are the reason I am the man I am today , you are the reason I cherrish my children as I do . you made me what I am and I owe you everything . Dad I miss you so ,,and think of you often all my love to you on this your day .
