The sox returned home to fenway last night for some much needed home cooking and sox fans were witness to a stellar performance by Dice K.
Dice was spot on and he needed to be as twins pitcher Scott baker matched him pitch for pitch for most of the night , In one of the best pitchers duels of the season, the sox pulled this one out with a clutch 8th inning rbi, single by Manny Ramirez
Matsuzaka pitched 7 1/3 innings of scoreless ball allowing six hits three walks and five ks.
Oki pitched out of a bases loaded 1 out jam in the eighth to keep the twins scoreless, as paps closed out the affair for his 26th save, this was the sox major league leading tenth shutout of the year . as the twins lost for just the fourth time in 22 games , the loss snapped a five game win streak for The twins .
Manny Ramirez, had two hits to lead the offense as the sox had seven hits on the night , Dustin Pedroia kept his fifteen game hit streak alive with a double in the eighth , as Ellsbury , Drew, Lowell , double , and Lugo also contributed to the offensive output . On this night we rolled the Dice K and came up winners 1-0 !!
