GIMME a bucket!!!!

I suppose the Stanks are crying "fair play", with us eliminating them from October play ALL-TO-GE-THER!!!, and so they have thus, eliminated us from all they could - the Division Title. Remember, (like anyone COULD forget!), we're still playing in Oct ...and THEY'RE NOT!!
So let them revel in their mediocrity. Let them fool themselves into thinking that they, once, before, now-and-always-will-be, an intrinsic part of the post-season, even IF golf is their headline strategy.
Let them bombastically claim how they were the 'spoilers' in '08 as they reminisce how the UN-clinched the series title for the Red Sox, as they totally obliterate the memory of their own, miserable, poor existence as the highest paid players in sports, dissapointing their own fan base. And as they hi- five their comrades while NY sees fit to tear down the very stadium that all their 'wonderful' memories were built.
Let 'em.
Cause I don't see it that way (I'm sure none of you do either). What I see is a bunch of mealy-mouthed, crybabies, that had their hats handed to them while they were too busy trying to figure out which end of a bat to use to be the most effective. I see an organazation that has HUGELY ticked off ALOT of the fanbase AND the players by acting like HEAD cry baby, in trying to embarrass Joe Torre, when all they did was look like more of a pathertic bunch than they already have proved themselves to be.
I see the current (well, "used to be" current.. hee hee hee!!) players, struggling with the loyalty they feel for "their" manager (Torre) and the loyalty they feel for the fanbase...(and the loyalty for Torre winning out, I might add.! By the way, don't you think it's kinda funny that you NEVER hear a WORD about that????)
I see those players concentrating on their over-all numbers, as a player instead of the over-all numbers as a team...and a HUGE rift to follow in the post-season, with dribblings of that 'root', spilling out into the media in the post-season.
What I see for the here and now is the joy of last night, going yard against the grand scheme of things...against the 'house the Ruth built..and definatly against the players AND their, so called, 'lovely organization'.
With the 'House the Ruth Built' falling, what will be the legacy of their next stadium? What will be the GREAT story, to tell their next generations?? I'm thinking a bedtime story might go something like this:
"Umm well, you see little Jimmy...Once upon a time, there was this place that 'used to be', that isn't anymore. And it was a GREAT place! In fact it was SOOOOO great, that they decided to tear it down, and so it isn't any more. Many happy memories took place at that VERY place!..the place that isn't any more...but don't you worry!...it's been replaced with a GOLF course and one of the holes, overlooks a Stadium.!!! YES!!!! Now NEXT TIME little Jimmy, we will ponder WHICH HOLE overlooks that Stadium!! Woin't that be FUN????.. but the TRUE story has to be told to you when you're quite a bit older because it WILL give you nightmares.
