I heard the birds.....

I couldn't believe it..though it always happens this way..I heard the birds yesturday and I thought, "It's REALLY REALLY happening!!!" Spring is FINALLY walking up the pathway to knock on the door!!! And I get excited all OVAH again!!!!
And it's this way, every year. Every time, when I hear them for the first time, it's like I wasn't sure I would ever hear them again.
And then, the melting of the harsh winters' snow, as it runs down the side gullys off the roadways..into all the culverts under the driveways..merging into the nearest waterway which will then bring it to the nearest, biggest body of water and then, ultimatley to the ocean..travelling faster and faster as it goes!! All the while, that unmistakable sound of water rushing past and as the sun refracts from the waters surface, you intrisicly admire this life blood as it goes and goes and goes...
...only to usher forth sounds and images of Springs gone past as you wait for those exACT same sounds and images to sooth your soul and ease your mind that everything, once again, will be alright and all will be well with the world, once more.
And the gleam in your eye reflects off the bat youve newly oiled or the glove you have undusted. (Ohhh, PERISH the thought of a dusty glove!!!)
And you place all your 'aides' near the tv or wherever your own ritualistic bahviour has deemed appropriate and you wait..as the ever increasingly LOUD moments trickle to silence with the first *CRACK* of the bat or the first smile from Dusty or the first glimpse of Spring Training..perhaps it begins by reuniting with ole friends on this site..whatever it is that makes YOU know in your very being, that THIS is what we have all waited for! THIS is what makes the long winter nites so worth bearing...and THIS is truly what makes us all tick.
I wouldn't trade it for all the tea in China *tips cap to Moo*
Now.... PLAY BALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
