Ellsbury inches away from first.
Calm, relaxed, and poised to pounce.
He eyes the pitcher for any movement that'll give away his intentions.
The pitcher comes set.
He keeps one eye on Ellsbury, one on his catcher.
The pitcher unfurls the ball towards the plate.
Like a flash, Ellsbury explodes towards second.
The catcher rises and uncorks his throw.
Ellsbury runs with pure power and grace.
Nearing his destination, he swoops in with a feet first slide.
The shortstop lays down a tag, seconds late.
The umpire signals, SAFE!!!!!!!!!
STOLEN BASE!!!!!
