baseball: of the simulated variety (fantasy)
as pitchers, catchers, and overacheivers start arriving for spring training.... it got me thinking about the other baseball that starts to warm up in spring as well...
now i dont have any kids, so little league means nothing to me which means that leaves me with two basic options... fantasy and video games.
as far as video games go, i was a big fan of EA, i still like the college game they have... but its not the same, i wont play 2K games... probably because they repeatedly put yanks on the cover... but "the show" has a nice franchise mode so ive been going with it (as if you care) its probably been two months since i picked up mlb 07 the show .... now 08 is approaching.. im starting to feel curious about which team will be ranked the worst.. (i always play franchise mode with the worst team and work on making them champs... its just too easy with the sox and i start trying to make their stats mimick those against real life, so its a bad idea for me) .. now i wont play as the mets, yankees, or giants... i just cant do it.. but will it be the marlins, nationals, royals, a's....? im hoping for the nats personally.
as far as fantasy...football and hockey are fine, ill check that crap once a week and be marginally successful... but baseball, ahhh... its my true calling to be a GM...
the only problem is that in some leagues you get all of these people that sign up and then dont ever check it, so theres teams full of injured reserve players filling their starting lineup etc... it sucks!
that being said i ve created a fantasy baseball league on yahoo for sawxheads like yourselves who are interested in playing all season long. you might not get as into it as myself, but if your willing to be commited and not give up.. set your rosters every week and all that, i want you to join what could arguably be the best fantasy league ever... (partially because the whole yankees roster might sit in the free agent bin all season)

its an 18 -20 team league with 10 field positions and 10 pitching positions and 5 bench spots... a total of 18 points available per week 9 for position players, 9 for pitchers.
pretty hard core, but i think you can handle it... ill publicly ridicule you if you give up on me though.
sign up, use your sawxheads name in the team name, so we can tell each other apart, and have some fun trying to prove your better than me, other sawxheads, or even theo.
